For those who love to explore on foot, there are over 150 hiking routes of varying difficulty levels to choose from. Local mountain schools offer not only classic high-altitude hikes but also numerous themed hikes:
From sunrise and sunset tours to orchid or herb hikes – in Berwang and the Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena, the paths lead to impressive waterfalls, mysterious mountain lakes, and various huts serving traditional Tyrolean delicacies. The highlight for the experienced is the ascent of the highest peak in Germany, the Zugspitze, at 2,962 meters high.

More than 100 tours
The bike schools of the Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena offer special courses for beginners as well. From the online tour portal, bikers can choose from over 100 tours with a total length of 4,330 kilometers and more than 100,000 meters in altitude: Enjoyment riders can relish nature while riding to the Heiterwanger See, while extreme bikers can find new sporting challenges on the freeride trail at Grubigstein in Lermoos with jumps and obstacles.

Excursion Destinations
In the warm summer months, you can spend a day at the family-friendly Berwanger Bärenbad or refresh yourself after a hike. For those who prefer to go higher, crossing the Highline 179 near Reutte is a must. This suspension bridge, standing at a height of 114 meters, stretches over the Ehrenberg castle world, connecting the ruins of Ehrenberg with Fort Claudia. A special experience is also the descent with a mountain scooter from the Heiterwanger Hochalm through Berwang to Bichlbach.
Always worth a visit are the Royal Castles in Schwangau. Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau can be reached by car from Berwang in about 30 minutes. In bad weather, the Alpentherme Ehrenberg in Reutte, with its beautiful sauna landscape, invites you to relax. Children will also enjoy the swimming pool with various pools, slides, and a toddler area. Nearby towns such as Füssen, Garmisch, or Innsbruck offer shopping and many other activities when the weather is not favorable.
